In conversation with Simon Bayliss
Contemporary artists Simon Bayliss and Catherine Wynne-Paton in conversation on opening day of Frantic Romantic exhibition at Eastside Projects, Birmingham on 4th November 2016.
Welcome to the ART BUBBLE Artists in Conversation video series where I talk with other contemporary artists. This time I’m talking to Simon Bayliss at Eastside Projects, just before the opening of his show Frantic Romantic. Simon lives and works in Cornwall and his essay Kitch or Culture? An examination of the landscape painting phenomena in South West England is well worth reading as background to his approach ( http://www.simon-bayliss.com/kitsch-or-culture ).
Simon recently took part in The Syllabus – a national alternative learning programme for artists developed by Eastside Projects, New Contemporaries, S1 Artspace, Spike Island, Studio Voltaire and Wysing Arts Centre.
