      Artist Statement

      Working with inherited memories and other people's narratives deconstructed and reimagined gives me a framework to explore figurative conventions across cultures. I create figures that are somehow at odds with their environment or each other, perhaps caught in a dramatic entanglement or tableau. In recent work figures seem to emerge or retreat from their surroundings with their entrances and exits achieved through the intersection of strange morphologies that shift with every reading.
